If you upload a hand-drawn sigil photo, this is the easiest capture setup

Laura, I want to preserve the life of the mark, not sand it into a logo, so this quick setup helps me keep what is alive in your original drawing.

• Put the drawing on a flat surface.
• Use daylight or one even lamp; avoid heavy shadow.
• Photograph as straight-on as you reasonably can.
• Include the whole drawing, even if there is extra paper around it.
• If you want, send two shots: one full page and one closer detail shot.
• Pen, marker, pencil, or paint all work.

A quick phone photo is fine. I can work from imperfect source images; this just makes the first pass easier.

What I'll preserve

• Irregular edge energy.
• Pressure and taper.
• Asymmetry where it feels intentional.
